The Fisher Type 92C is a versatile and economical pressure-reducing regulator designed for steam, liquid, or hot air service. Constructed from cast iron, steel, or stainless steel, this regulator offers durable performance in demanding industrial environments.

The Type 92C is available in two configurations:

• As a pilot-operated regulator using the Type 6392 pilot, which utilizes inlet pressure as the operating medium, requiring no external air supply.

• As a pressure-loaded regulator, suitable for remote pressure adjustment, when used with a separate loading regulator such as the Type 67, 1301F, or Type 670 panel loader.

Additionally, the Type 6492HM or 6492HTM safety override pilot can be installed with the Type 92C for applications requiring advanced overpressure protection. In this configuration, the Type 6392 pilot is mounted on the downstream valve, while the 6492HM/HTM pilot is placed on the upstream valve. This arrangement allows the override pilot to monitor downstream pressure and prevent pressure from exceeding safe limits if the downstream valve fails.

This safety setup meets the requirements of ASME B31.1-1989, 122.14.2.A, and may replace a traditional ASME safety valve when vent piping is impractical and upstream pressure does not exceed 400 psig (27.6 bar). Local codes may require additional approvals prior to installation.

• Lightweight, space-saving design simplifies installation. For pilot-operated models, the supply pressure is routed from the valve inlet to the pilot using factory-provided piping.

Service-Friendly Maintenance
• Plug and seat components in both the main valve and pilot can be accessed without disturbing pipeline connections or removing the diaphragm. The pilot-inlet screen is easily removed along with seating parts for cleaning and inspection.

Simple Conversion Between Configurations
• The Type 92C can be converted from a pressure-loaded to a pilot-operated regulator—or vice versa—without modifying the main valve. Conversion only requires adding or removing the pilot and associated piping.
