The Accu-Pressure™ Gas Blanketing Regulator System is designed to reduce high-pressure gas—such as nitrogen—to maintain a protective atmosphere above liquids stored in tanks or vessels, particularly during pump-out operations. When a vessel is suddenly cooled and internal vapors contract, the system compensates by introducing blanketing gas, preventing internal pressure from dropping. In both scenarios, maintaining a slight positive pressure helps protect the vessel from contamination by air, moisture, and other impurities, and prevents potential wall collapse.
The Fisher Type Y692 is a direct-operated regulator developed for precise pressure control in very low-pressure blanketing applications. Downstream pressure is sensed via a pitot tube located in the regulator’s lower casing for internal pressure registration, or through a downstream sensing line for external registration. The Type Y692 is available in NPS 1-1/2 and 2 / DN 40 and 50 sizes.

Ease of Inspection and Maintenance
• The union nut between the actuator and body allows access to internal components such as the disk and orifice by removing only the diaphragm casing—no need to detach the body from the pipeline.
Precision Control
• The large diaphragm area enhances control accuracy at low-pressure settings. Additionally, the integrated pitot tube delivers a dynamic boost, improving overall flow capacity.
Fast Response Time
• Downstream pressure is directly sensed by the diaphragm through the pitot tube, allowing the regulator to respond quickly to changes in system demand.
Simple Installation
• The Type Y692 is easy to install with no need for additional connections, making setup fast and straightforward.
Hydrogen Compatibility
• The Y692 Series has been tested for use with hydrogen, including assessments for material compatibility, leakage risk, permeation, and resistance to embrittlement. These units are fully qualified for hydrogen service based on rigorous evaluation and testing protocols.
