The Fisher Type 63EG-98HM is a versatile pilot-operated relief valve or backpressure regulator designed for use in gas, liquid, or steam applications. Capable of handling process temperatures up to 450°F (232°C), this valve utilizes high-performance elastomers such as Ethylene Propylene Rubber (EPR) or Perfluoroelastomer (FFKM) to ensure Class VI tight shutoff, even in high-temperature and corrosive environments.
When dealing with corrosive liquids, especially water-based or aqueous solutions, it is essential to select proper valve materials. Stainless steel components, such as a linear cage or Whisper Trim™ III cage and body flange, are recommended to ensure the valve plug travels along a corrosion-resistant surface. Note: the 63EG-98HM is not ASME certified.

• Elastomer seating ensures leak-tight Class VI shutoff at temperatures up to 450°F (232°C).
Quick Conversion to Differential Control
• Easily adaptable for differential backpressure control by adding a sealing washer to the adjusting screw.
Efficient Maintenance Design
• The main valve body remains in-line during servicing. Pre-assembled trim packages allow for fast and simple replacement, reducing system downtime.
Adaptable to Liquid and Gas Applications
• Includes removable vents on both the pilot exhaust port and tapped pilot spring case for remote vent piping. The spring case also supports remote pneumatic pressure adjustment using a gasketed closing cap.
Remote Upstream Registration Option
• For upstream sensing, the pilot supply tube can be disconnected at the 1/4-inch NPT tapping on the main valve body, and the port can be sealed.
Arctic Service Compatibility
• Available in special configurations for extremely low temperatures down to -76°F (-60°C).
Hydrogen Service Ready
• The 63EG-98HM Series has been evaluated and approved for hydrogen applications, meeting criteria for material compatibility, permeation, and resistance to hydrogen embrittlement.
